Sophie’s Top-Travels So Far & Travel Bucket List
For today, we have something a little bit different in store for you guys. We thought we’d tell you all about travel destinations that we have been to and loved, and also about destination we desperately want to go to. For this post, I, Sophie, am going to tell you all about my highlights and my bucket list, while Natascha is going to tell you hers in a couple of days.
Top Travels So Far
Hawaii
If you have been around for quite a bit, you will have seen the mini-series I wrote about my time in Hawaii. This, for sure, has been my favourite place I travelled to so far. I went there in September 2017 and stayed for a whole month, which left me with lots of time to explore not only Oahu and Honolulu, but also Kauai. I had the most amazing time wandering through the rainforests, diving with dolphins, hiking up volcanos, and enjoying the island life and food. If you want to know more about my time there, make sure to check out my posts by clicking on the link below.
Oman
This might come as no surprise to you that Oman is among my top 5 travel destinations. As I have already told you before, Oman, and Muscat in particular, is something like a second home to me. I try to visit my friends and family in the Middle East at least once a year, which makes it one of my favourite places to be. I just love the country and the culture, the people and everything else about it. Right now, in fact, I am even trying to learn Arabic. Let’s see how that goes, shall we? If you want to read a complete guide of the Sultanate of Oman, from North to South, check out this post.
England
Probably not really news to you as well, but I absolutely love England and, in fact, the UK in general. I am always beyond happy whenever I get to go back there. So, as you can imagine, I am thrilled to be headed to London over Easter. It’s been quite some time since I last was in London, so it sure does feel like “it’s coming home”, if you know what I mean. This time, I am going with Natascha and one of our best friends. We don’t know exactly what we are going to do and where we are going to yet, except for the fact that we are going to see Tom Hiddleston in his new play “Betrayal” at the Harold Pinter theatre. I honestly can’t wait!
Italy
Fun fact about me: some of my family history goes all the way back to Italy, even as far down as Rome, which makes me part Italian. I love that side of me, and I most definitely feel really comfortable and, again, some sort of “at home”, whenever I am in Italy. My family and I have made a habit of spending at least one week a year there together. This year, we are going to combine this holiday with my granddad’s 80th birthday, so it’s going to be a special trip this June for sure.
My Travel Bucket List
North America
This dream is going to come true this year, as you might already know. Natascha and I are going to Seattle, rent a car and go on the most exciting road trip ever. We plan to go to America for a good 5 weeks and explore as many national parks and cool places as we can. I am not going to tell you too much now, since we have already planned a blog post with news concerning our trips, which is coming your way very soon.
Australia and New Zealand
One day, maybe after having finished my degree at Uni, I will go on a trip to see Australia, New Zealand, and maybe even Fiji and the Cook Islands. I have always had a weak spot for travelling far to the other side of the world and going to see the most exotic places, so I can’t wait to one day cross this off my bucket list as well.
Norway, Sweden, Finland
This is quite a bit different, but in no way less important to me. One day, I would love to go on a road trip through Scandinavia, see the Northern Lights, explore the fjords and mountains there, and just get to know a place I have never been before. Have you ever been to one of these countries? Let me know down below.
Tanzania and Zanzibar
One of my biggest dreams is to go on a safari one day and see the big five. I would also love to explore the jungle and rain forest, and then go to the island of Zanzibar and go scuba diving and see incredible reefs and the breath-taking marine life there (maybe I’ll even get to swim with a whale one day, wouldn’t that be cool?).
What have been your favourite travel destinations so far? And where would you love to go sometime in the future? Let me know in the comments down below, I would love to read about your travel experience and your bucket list.
